I’m not dead!

7 Jan

I am finally showing signs that I am getting better.  I’m not dead, despite my defiance of the internet advice to seek medical assistance immediately.  I guess I figured if I could survive a fractured skull without medical treatment, the flu should be a piece of cake, right?

I’m not so sure about that piece of cake.

Right now, I’m virtually mute and refusing to talk, by and large.  I don’t answer the telephone either.  If I dare to waste the raspy voice I have, it’s going to delay my recovery from laryngitis even longer.  I’ve been down this road before, plenty of times, for reasons ranging from strained vocal cords to various illnesses.  Silence is my friend right now.  GM doesn’t do sign language, but RedDog understands my clicking and gestures.  Don’t tell GM, it might hurt his feelings that the dog picked up our silent communication faster than he has!

I did feel well enough that I actually cooked us a real meal today.  That may sound kind of silly, but we normally only eat a single meal each day, usually in the late afternoon-early evening.  We had a very juicy and delicious roasted turkey breast with stuffing & gravy–I’d not seen GM eat so fast before!  He’s also been under the weather with the flu, but I guess I have been starving him.

But as I return to the Land of the Living, its to all sorts of things I had missed coming.  The mass die offs of birds and fish, in the USA and elsewhere is concerning.  I hear a lot about it being the result of HAARP, but I don’t know enough about that to agree or disagree.  Considering my role as a alternative news/paranormal news radio show host, that’s probably derelict on my part, but the reality is…nobody can know everything.  I have associates & a research assistant (yeah, a real live one who’s very good at it…so send Mark lots of warm thoughts for the immense amount of time and effort he puts into research for Exogeny Network and the Dawn of Shades) as well as GM to fill in the blanks for me.  I know a lot about a lot of different things, and I know enough to not pretend to know more than I do before I look like I’m trying out for the part of Archie Bunker’s replacement.

A food bill was also signed into law by President Obama today.  It’s supposed to guarantee food safety, but I’m a bit leery of what all is involved in the bill.  I hate to see anything that can potentially restrict our choices as to where and when, as well as what kind, of food we can buy.  I understand the public needs basic safeguards to protect them, but we also need the freedom of choice.  We have to take responsibility for our own welfare, safety, and well being as part of the price of freedom.  I’m a firm believer in being responsible for our own choices rather than putting the government in a parental role.

Then there is the news that the New Madrid fault is in danger of an imminent earthquake, despite being far overdue for its shake & break.  Apparently, this is supposed to be the work of FEMA, the US government, and HAARP.  Maybe I’m a bit skeptical, but FEMA, in my mind, doesn’t have the ability to coordinate finding wind in a hurricane…how can they possibly manage arranging an earthquake?  I do strongly advocate emergency preparedness for everyone I know (as well as listeners to the radio program) but it’s really more because of things like FEMA’s track record at managing major disasters.  I’m a huge advocate of “let’s take care of ourselves as much as we can.”

Now in regards to other agencies having their finger in a pie as foul smelling  as this one could be…well, I hate to say it, but for a change, I am conforming to the national average.  I do not trust our government.  Like the little boy who cried wolf, they have a proven track record of lying and hiding the truth from us far too often.  The alphabet soup agencies that make up the darker side of our government are naturally endowed with a great deal of suspicion from me.

I’m also well aware that our government possesses technology far advanced to the gadgets and gizmos we buy and use.  I’ve read a lot of FOIA documents that even the parts that weren’t blacked out shocked me, and the blacked out parts were just horrifying.  Could they be planning to cause an earthquake in the central portion of our country?  I don’t see a motive, but…they’ve done dumber things.

Could they be up to something to try and hide something else that has gone horribly wrong, like say…a serious major oil spill?  Now that is definitely much more attractive as a potential hypothesis than the idea they are using HAARP to generate a 7.0+ earthquake on the New Madrid fault line.  It’s also very possible that the New Madrid fault line could end up doing a shake & break just as a side effect of what ever magical fix-it solution their mad scientists have come up with this week.

We have Christian fundamentalists insisting that the end of the world is in May of this year.  We have various other predictions that the New Madrid fault line is going to shake in May.  There’s the Mexican king of warlocks who’s insisting that Obama is going to suffer from a serious drop in popularity this year that will result in a 0% chance of his being re-elected too.  Of course, the news report with that piece of information also stated that this same guy has a 0% accuracy rating.  If that’s the case, we are looking at Obama remaining president as Congress becomes predominately Republican, which always makes for a curious and interesting four years.

All in all, I’ve decided to avoid getting too upset about anything.  It might be the cold medicine skewing my perception of events, after all.

On a happy note, I saw a video a few days ago about a homeless man by the name of Ted Williams in Columbus, Ohio, who truly did have an amazing voice.  Like a lot of other people, I promoted it on my Facebook page, and I have been following his story since that video went viral.  I really and truly hope he makes the best of a second chance like few would even dare dream of being offered, because he is getting it.  It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling and faith in humankind once again to see him receive these offers and opportunities.  I sincerely pray he stays sober and clean, and does make a go of this second chance.  He is truly being offered that second chance on a golden platter and I hope he realizes how fortunate he truly is.

It also makes a person realize how powerful the grapevine is when the masses, people like you and me, make a video go viral.  Now, if something really awesome comes to the guy who made the video, that would be awesome too.  He went out of his way to help a homeless guy, without any real hope of any return other than maybe, just maybe, someone offering the guy a job.  Instead, he made Ted Williams’ dreams and prayers come true, far beyond what the reporter dreamed would happen.

Shania Twain had a song “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”  The saying for Ted Williams is “That Does Impress Me Much.”  So with that said, Good Luck to Ted, and a lot of people are rooting for you.  Don’t let us down, don’t let your grandchildren down, don’t let your children down, don’t let your girlfriend down, don’t let your mother down, and most of all, don’t let yourself down.
